Each 1 pound container is filled with young sprouted sunflower shoots which have been grown to harvest in our special soil mix.
We use only certified black hull organic sunflower seed. An ideal seed which gives optimum nutrition and very high yields. This is the same seed you will find for sale in the Raw Seeds and Grains category of our store.
Sunflower greens are a good source of Vitamins A, B, C and E as well as Calcium, Chlorophyll, Iron, Magnesium, Niacin, Phosphorus, Potassium and Amino Acids. The protein content of the shoots is about 20-25%.
Sunflower greens are great in Salads, or as a stack by themselves, having a refreshingly mild but extremely enjoyable taste.
The Sprouts can also be added to green juice drinks. A masticating gear juicer is best for juicing sprouts. |
